It was difficult to find a tiny one able to go through this tube. I remember the reflective particles in those days were very heavy, and either made the skin flat or shiny. “No one understood what I meant by éclat. Touche Éclat was one of the first highlighting products ever created. Instead of just adding powder, I’d mix a drop of toner, a drop of lotion, hydration, cream, and a drop of very light foundation, and apply it with a brush on top of the makeup.”ĥ. Yves Saint Laurent Touche Eclat Blur Primer (52) is a new illumtinating primer that promises to blur the appearance of imperfections while boosting the radiance of your foundation. “As a makeup artist, I had my own recipe to retouch the face after hours of shooting. Look to see if any shades between two palettes are known dupes. De Gunzburg had been making a DIY version on sets for years. Duplicate a high-end product or never buy the same shade twice. And it worked! Later, of course we elaborated on the formula.”Ĥ. “I created the mixture myself in a kitchen. The first prototype was made in a kitchen. I asked the research and development team, ‘Can you put a mixture inside, but instead of a very heavy concealer texture I want a liquid, transparent, non-color.”ģ. Here are our dupes for YSL Touche Eclat Rain Strass Edition, which is a pen concealer that retails for 45.00 and contains 0.1 oz. We had with a sponge, but one day the supplier sent it to me with a brush. However, if you’re looking for something that’s really going to brighten your face up then I 100% recommend Seventeen’s Wow Skin.“I received it by mistake. I certainly don’t hate the Kiko concealer, and I’ve actually now started using it as my concealer for blemishes as the coverage is still really good. I don’t find that it settles into any lines at all, and it looks almost as good at the end of the day as the beginning. Overall I just don’t think the Kiko concealer adds anywhere near enough brightness to the eye, and I think paler girls would actually find this to be too dark for their skin in general. Also, the Seventeen concealer wears much better underneath the eyes than Kiko. I think the pinker undertone also helps with the illumination better than the yellow tone of the Kiko product. YSL Touche Eclat Glow Shot Liquid Highlighter is a highlighter that retails for 42.00 and contains 0.45 oz. But as you can see, the Wow Skin Highlighter in the shade Fair is much lighter. I’d bought the Kiko Soft Focus Concealer in the lightest shade, 01. While the application was practically identical, the final effect was better. A red carpet staple, and a coveted item in many beauty guru’s kits worldwide. Low Beauty, you are probably just as stoked for this as I am- a solid dupe for a 20 year old concealer that sells every 10 seconds. I have to say that I was much more impressed with the Seventeen offering than the Kiko. MaFor this week’s installment of High vs. It's a bit more sheer, but it layers over other concealers beautifully and as long as I set it I haven't had any problems with it creasing. I’ve used a couple of the Wow! Skin products from Seventeen and really liked them, so felt like I was in safe hands. The Maybelline Dream Lumi Touch in Radiant is a near perfect color dupe for YSL Touche Eclat in 1. However, I didn’t find that it brightened my under-eye area that much, and as the day wore on I did notice that it went a bit cakey and noticeable.Īs I wasn’t in love with it, when I saw the new Seventeen Wow! Skin Concealer on sale in Boots I decided that it was worth giving that a go too. At first I really liked how this looked, and it covered any dark circles and uneven skin tone really well. It applies really nicely, with the brush applicator making smoothing this underneath the eyes really easy. This is described as an ‘illuminating concealer’ with a ‘lifting effect’. While I don’t have the original to compare, I decided to give them both a whirl to see what magic they could work.įirst up, I bought the Kiko Soft Focus Concealer. But with the shiny casing and clicky distribution method, it’s obvious that both of these concealers are marketing themselves as dupes for the eye-brightening miracle worker that apparently is Touche Éclat. Unfortunately, the high-performer comes with a hefty price tag, and Maybelline's Dream Lumi Touch Highlighting Concealer just so happens to be the reigning drugstore dupe for concealing and brightening the under-eye area like the magic retoucher that is Touche clat. YSL’s Touche Éclat is one of the most iconic and raved about makeup items out there, but £25 for a concealer is a little bit naaaaaah for me.
